RTK 1 Vesti is a TV station that broadcasts from Tirana city in Albania. The medium of communication used is Albanian. The sound used is the mono system and the programs are available on demand. The initials RTK refer to Radio Broadcasting of Kosovo. The broadcaster is a government-run corporation. This corporation has television service, a digital satellite and two stations that transmit radio programs.

The TV station has a history that spans for more than ten years. The greatest upgrades on the station were done in the year 2000. New transmitting equipment were bought and installed. This station is very popular among the young Albanian population. The donation that was offered by the Japanese government is the one that made the upgrade of the transmission equipment possible.

Another important funding that enabled the station establish itself firmly in 2003 is a bridging funding. This funding enabled the station to apply for a public broadcasting license.

In order to understand how far the TV station has come, one should understand that in 2003, the television was offering only 15 hours of broadcasting. Today, it offers programs round the clock. In terms of co-operation with other TV stations, EBU, in 2003, signed an agreement with RTK 1 Vesti, when it intended to launch a campaign that would enable it get a public broadcasting license.
